Angela…looking forward to your continuation of The Armor of God and although that was not the reason I came here…The Devil and My Dachshund caught my attention:1) because of my love for dogs, loss over a decade ago my precious dachshund “Champion” 2) for I know the battle against the enemy Satan, for which we need that ARMOR and 3:) You came to visit my post on Thankful Thursday and I couldn’t find you on the list and in your blog, I didn’t notice any Thankful Thursday…though I’m going back to read more cuz I just love everything…and copied your button and checking out your Mission Tour…but BACK to THIS POST…HOW I AGREE with ALL…and I’m so glad that the LIAR has been
NEUTERED (how I laughed and rejoiced)! Thank you for your creative style and sharing these SCRIPTURES to remind me and alert me with the strategy of he that lurks in the darkness or comes in disguise as an angel of light…that I shall stand on MY ROCK and
Thank JESUS with the FULL ARMOR that He’s provided me! This was a stepping stone in your series on Armor…cuz it’s definitely part of it and the Lord led you & wisely you obeyed and wrote with Godly inspiration! “The only power he has over me is the power I give him.” AMEN! It’s easy to forget and be deceived by his sneaky lies!

Thanks for the reminder. I remember a pastor a church I went to in Oregon referencing Isaiah 14:16-17 which says, “Those who see you will gaze at you, And consider you, saying: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms, 17 Who made the world as a wilderness And destroyed its cities, Who did not open the house of his prisoners?’” (speaking of Lucifer in context), saying when we see the devil from our position in heaven one day we’ll be like, “Is this little, puny, pathetic thing what tripped us up the whole time!?” We give him too much credit now, he’s defeated, we just need to remember that and walk in it by faith!

For this very reason, this is why what we speak outloud in our words is important that we never give Satan ANY power over us. He can’t have it! And I have to laugh- because I grew up with dachshunds – my parents always have at least one or two of them. Oh too funny.

Great post Angela! I love the dog analogy and the person above who commented that Satan can only go to the end of his chain. You have a wonderful gift of connecting with people and sharing God’s wonderful words. Thank you for all you do for me personally in my walk with Him.

Couldn’t agree with you more… Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
Satan’s power is diminished. He has not power. The victory is won. He is defeated….he prowls around trying to scare us…but we have the Lion of Judah on our side.

“The only power he has over me is the power I give him”, how right you are Angela and expressed simply and in a way far more to the point than most sermons I have heard.

To use your dog analogy, Satan has power to influence people but he can only go to the end of his chain. We know what is at the end of time, and so does he;

Matthew C25v41 Then he will say to those on his left, `Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels’.
