A Note From Genny

Hi – I’m Genny. I’m excited to be part of such a great team of women here and I’m glad you stopped by!

I’m married to Mike–my high school sweetheart, soul mate, and best friend–and we have two great kids together, our daughter (12) and our son (10).

Before becoming a mom, I was a manager at a global computer company and was happily climbing the corporate ladder. But having kids changed that. After making the decision to quit my job to be a stay-at-home mom, I rediscovered a passion I had long forgotten: books and writing.

It’s funny how motherhood can do that to you. As you share experiences with your kids, you somehow get back in touch with who you were as a kid. Even as a very young child, I loved to read and write.

Today, I balance my time between writing and motherhood and I love both. I’m an authorblogger, book reviewer, and coffee lover. I’m glad you stopped by to share a cup!

I’ve known about God my whole life, but it wasn’t until I was in college, struggling with an eating disorder, that He became personal to me. It was then that I called out to Him and truly understood for the first time His love and involvement in my life.

Even though my struggle with food and my self-image was hard, I’m thankful now that I went through it. Not only do I believe in God like never before, I also look at the world differently. I feel a tug on my heart to help others because I know what it’s like to go through a dark time. Regardless of how people act on the outside, or how perfect a life may seem, we all have challenges. We all have a story. And we all have something—whether big or little—that God can help us with.

I hope you’re encouraged while you’re here!

“Two are better than one… for if they fall, one will lift up the other.”
