Before having four children, I had a dream. To write. I thought my career plans would work perfectly with raising a family. While the kids were in school, I could write. But God had other plans and just as my writing career was kicking into first gear, He had me change course and homeschool.
During that first year of homeschooling my dream was still alive, my priorities were skewed, and I struggled to do it all. Realizing that I could have it all, just not all at the same time, and with God’s leading, I gave up writing for a season. It was just what I needed to get my priorities back on track.
Now with two kids in private school and two homeschooling, I still struggle to balance life and career, and I’m always interested in learning from those who have paved the way. I doesn’t claim to have my act together in this area, but I know a lot of moms who do, and I’m learning to implement what I know. I love to share my triumphs and struggles in faith, career, life and homeschooling on my blog Portrait of A Writer…Interrupted.
As if I don’t have enough to do, I run a growing webring/blog/community called Writer…Interrupted. If you’re interested in following my writing career, I blog about at Writing in the Midst of Life.
